How to choose a chapel

In Bali, a chapel wedding means a wedding blessing ceremony in an indoor or semi indoor venue which has a beautiful scenery. It is NOT related to certain religion, it is just a general wedding venue. A few of them are multifunction as a reception place too or for a photo session only. Chapel wedding is also a good choice during rainy season in Bali.

Herewith some highlights we must consider to choose a chapel wedding instead of just the beautiful scenery or its unique architecture:

  1. Total numbers of guests

Bali chapels capacity are various, start from 20 seats up to 250 seats

  1. Time Schedule

A chapel could have 3 up to 4 weddings in a day. Generally the marriage blessing ceremony set for 1 hour duration starts from guests arrival up to photo session inside the chapel. Usually the next wedding schedule is within 1 hour to give preparation time for next wedding.

Your MC should notice this so she can advice your guests to move to reception venue (if any) or organize the photo session prompt and efficient.

  1. Guests waiting lounge

Before or after your wedding, there might be another weddings too, some chapels provide guests waiting lounge but limited seats only and subject to availability among the wedding slots.

  1. Bridal preparation room/ Powder room

The venue must have at least two preparation rooms separately for Bride and Groom getting ready. Some chapels don’t have accommodations facility or they sell it separately; therefore you have to consider a chapel with two preparation rooms. The preparation rooms use generally a couple of hours prior to the marriage blessing starts and subject to availability of the wedding schedule.

  1. Marriage blessing ceremony

Most of commercial wedding chapels in Bali are not related to certain religion; so they are more flexible for any kind of marriage blessing ceremony either religious or a non-religious.

Generally the chapel offer a basic marriage blessing ceremony package based on a commitment marriage blessing ceremony which is non-religious and non-legal binding. The commitment marriage blessing ceremony usually carried out by a local marriage celebrant.

However if you need a religious marriage blessing or legal marriage, we could help you to arrange it. There will be cost adjustment on top of the initial wedding package price.

The duration of marriage blessing ceremony should fit with the chapel use duration; generally 30 minutes up to 45 minutes maximum.
